Manchester United

Bordeaux target Silvestre
Blanc keen to be reunited with former team-mate

Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc is reportedly planning to raid former club Manchester United for Mikael Silvestre.

Reports emanating from France suggest Blanc has made his former Old Trafford team-mate one of his top summer transfer targets.

With David Jemmali set to leave Bordeaux at the end of the season after turning down a new deal, Blanc is in need of defensive reinforcements and sees Silvestre as an ideal replacement.

Blanc is a big admirer of Silvestre and he is believed to have enquired about the French international last summer.

Silvestre's future at United is uncertain as he has just one-year remaining on his contract and he is well down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old could be tempted to return to France for regular first-team football and the prospect of UEFA Champions League football at Bordeaux next season could sway Silvestre's decision.

Evans awaits decision on future
Northern Ireland star will have little say over his future

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans insists he will 'keep his head down' at Old Trafford and allow others to decide where his future lies.

The Northern Ireland star has enjoyed two successful loan spells with Sunderland and Roy Keane is reportedly keen to keep him at the Stadium of Light next season.

But Evans insists that, as he is under contract with United, it will be up to Sir Alex Ferguson to determine his next move.

Control

"I'm not in control at all of what happens now," he told the Sunderland Echo.

"I will just go back to Man United and keep my head down.

"I've got used to that last season. I wasn't involved much in the first half of the season there and I just tried to do the best I could.

"You are not really in control of anything that goes on when you are under contract.

"If any club wants to bid for me, it is up to them and Man United to decide what happens.

"I don't know what is going to happen and I won't be knocking on Sir Alex Ferguson's door asking questions because he is in charge and I'm sure he'll let me know what's happening."

Ronaldo admits desire to play in La Liga

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted he will consider his Manchester United future after the Champions League final and would be tempted by a move to Real Madrid.

The Portuguese winger has become one of the hottest properties in world football after scoring 41 goals this season to help United retain their Premier League title and reach the Champions League showpiece.

Madrid have consistently voiced their interest in the 23-year-old and reports have suggested they would be prepared to part with around £100million.

Ahead of next Wednesday's meeting with Chelsea in Moscow, Ronaldo told Spanish TV network Antena 3: 'I am happy here but let's see what happens after the Champions League final.

'I am feeling calm here. I'm happy but in the future I don't know. I know Real Madrid like how I play and I know that other teams in Spain like my game as well, so that's good.

'It is good to know that other clubs are interested in you. I have said millions of times that I would love to play in Spain.'

Saha admits he may have to leave Old Trafford

Striker Louis Saha admits his career at Manchester United could almost be at end.

The 29-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Fulham in a £12million move in January 2004 but his time with the Red Devils has been beset by injury.

As United prepare for the Champions League final against Chelsea next week, the France international concedes it may mark his final involvement with the Premier League champions.

Saha said: 'The future isn't in my hands, but I'll try to make it happen for me.

'I know this could be my last game, and I would understand if the manager went for another striker. It would be painful if he did because I love the club so much.

'I can't speak about my future too much really now, though. It's about the club. The main thing is to win the Champions League and maybe that will change things.'

Pique close to Barca switch
Spanish starlet poised to return to Camp Nou

Gerard Pique is close to rejoining Barcelona after revealing his move from Manchester United is at 'an advanced stage' of negotiations.

The talented Spaniard left Nou Camp to join United in 2004 at the age of 17, but has seen his path to Sir Alex Ferguson's first team blocked by Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand.

After failing to make a breakthrough in England the Catalan youngster is looking for a return to his former club.

"Negotiations with Barca are at a very advanced stage," he told Barcelona's official website.

"I like the idea of being able to play in a Barcelona shirt again.

"At the moment there's nothing official. Now we just have to wait for more details.

Pep praised

"At the moment the decision has to be made by other people."

Pique, who is back in Barcelona to prepare for a friendly game between Catalunya and Argentina on Saturday, also spoke highly of new Barca coach Pep Guardiola.

"He was a great player and he has the character you need to coach a side like Barca," he said.

"A new project is starting with Guardiola and there is a lot of new hope."

Tottenham

Barca confirm Giovani sale
Tottenham finalise £4.7million deal

Barcelona have confirmed that Giovani Dos Santos has signed for Tottenham.

The 19-year-old Mexican international has signed a five-year deal at White Hart Lane and will officially move to White Hart Lane on 1st July.

Spurs will pay an initial 6million euros (£4.7million) for Giovani with the fee possibly rising by another £3.9million depending on appearances.

Barca will retain 20 per cent of the financial rights to any possible transfer of the player during his first two years in North London and ten per cent thereafter.

Giovani, son of former Brazilian international Zizinho, came through the youth ranks at Camp Nou and he has Spanish citizenship so does not require a work-permit to play in England.

The player is currently sidelined after being operated on for a floating bone in his left ankle on May 19th, but is expected to recover within a month.

Tottenham held off stern interest from a number of clubs, including Premier League rivals Manchester City, to seal Giovani's signature.

Aston Villa

Martin O'Neill set to swoop for Pedro Mendes

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is ready to make an unlikely swoop for Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes.

Ex-Spurs midfielder Mendes struggles to get a regular place at Pompey and Villa believe he can boost their squad in a cut-price deal.

Carson future uncertain
England keeper unsure as to where he'll be next year

Scott Carson admits he is in the dark over whether his long-term future lies with Liverpool or Aston Villa.

The England international has spent the season on loan in the Midlands, where he has impressed Villa boss Martin O'Neill.

It has been widely reported that the Ulsterman is keen to have Carson back at Villa Park next season but whether it will be on a permanent or loan basis is subject to conjecture.

Next step

Carson admits he has enjoyed his time with Villa and while he is unsure as to whether he will be part of the club's future, the 22-year-old predicts bright times ahead for O'Neill and his side.

"I don't know what's going to happen, but hopefully the team do well," he said in the Birmingham Mail.

"You only have to look at the squad, there are a lot of young players there and even the younger ones coming through are very talented.

"Hopefully the manager will keep adding to it and developing it so the team can push on to the next step."

Valuation

The uncertainty which continues to surround Carson's next move is partially down to the inordinate transfer fee placed on his head by Liverpool.

Rafa Benitez is believed to be asking for somewhere in the region of £10million for the talented stopper, and Carson believes that valuation should be lowered in order to allow him to find regular first-team football.

"It's too much It's stupid money really. You pay £10million for a goalkeeper who is 27, 28 and the finished article," he said.

"To be honest, I'm far from the finished article. I have got another five years of learning.

"I don't think Liverpool are stupid. They know what I'm worth. They would have recouped what they paid for me in loan fees over the last couple of years.

"So hopefully, they can help me out and if there is a sniff of going somewhere, then hopefully they will respect my wishes and help me that way."

Newcastle

PSG forward Diane keen on Newcastle switch

Paris St Germain forward Amara Diane admits he would jump at the chance to join Newcastle United if the two clubs were to reach an agreement on his transfer.

Magpies boss Kevin Keegan was a spectator at the Parc des Princes last Saturday as PSG drew 1-1 with St Etienne in Ligue 1.

Diane, who started that match, claims the two clubs have held talks over his future.

'I know that there is contact between the two clubs,' said the Ivory Coast international.

'If they come to an agreement, I would go to Newcastle.'

Diane is a big fan of Keegan, who returned to St James' Park in January for a second spell as manager.

'Keegan is a coach that makes you dream,' said Diane, who joined PSG from Strasbourg in the summer of 2006.

'His team play attacking football, and playing in England would be a great opportunity for me.

'To play with Michael Owen would be great and there is also Obafemi Martins, who is a quality striker.

'The Premier League is very attractive and several of my Ivorian friends play there, so I would be in good company.'

Chelsea pair Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou and Emmanuel Eboue and Kolo Toure of Arsenal are among the Ivory Coast internationals who already play in the Premier League.

Rozehnal sticks with Lazio
Defender turns loan into permanent arrangement

Newcastle United defender David Rozehnal has completed a permanent move to Lazio.

Rozehnal joined Lazio on loan at the end of the January transfer window with the option of a long-term deal at Stadio Olimpico.

The Italian club have exercised their right to buy the Czech Republic international, who only joined Newcastle 12 months ago.

He cost the Magpies £2.9million from Paris Saint Germain and the Premier League club have confirmed that figure has been recouped.

Rozehnal, who is currently on Euro 2008 duty with the Czechs, had signed a four-year contract at St James' Park.

Though he had featured regularly under former Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce, he was allowed to move on by current boss Kevin Keegan.

The 27-year-old, who can also play a midfield holding role, made 25 appearances for Newcastle, the last of which was the 3-0 League defeat to Arsenal at the end of January.

3/4 of the stuff posted here is just nonsense rumours and not NEWS. Please use credible sources otherwise I'll start posting "news" of the bearded lady joining Chelsea for 34million euros.

Barcelona Preparing Mega Kaká Offer?
Sport.es claims that FC Barcelona are attempting a part-exchange bid for AC Milan playmaker Kaká...

The pro-Barcelona daily claims that there is talk within the corridors of power at Camp Nou that the time could be ripe to make a concerted effort to bring Kaká to Catalunya.

President Joan Laporta is eager to give the hole club a boost by renewing the squad with at least one big name in an attempt to banish the memories of two barren seasons, and Kaká could fit the bill there.

'Selling Club'

The issue is, of course, that Milan have absolutely no motivation to sell one of their prize assets. However, the rossoneri are themselves looking to rebuild after a fairly disastrous season at the San Siro, and as such a part-exchange could suit both sides.

Milan's interest in Ronaldinho and Gianluca Zambrotta is well-known, and with Deco also set to leave Camp Nou, he could be a third makeweight in what would be one of the biggest player-for-player deals in footballing history.

Even if Deco is not involved, Ronaldinho, Zambrotta, and a fee of €20m could potentially see Milan tempted to come to the negotiating table, even if nothing would be settled just yet.

For now this deal remains mere paper talk, but there is certainly motivation for each side to give it some thought

yea... this I know... only a couple are purely from there... the others (which I got from the Sun and Mirror) are also found in Soccernet and Sky Sports...

so far, I've only found 2 or 3 to be possible pure rumours... i.e. Petr Cech, Alan Smith and maybe Pedro Mendes... not to the extent of 3/4...

You can add Gattuso to Bayern for 20 million euro too... complete rubbish. There is interest but there is absolutely no way Bayern would ever pay that much, seeing as they only paid 10-11 million euro for Toni and the prior is older and has less marketable value.

The Sun, Mirror and goal.com have as much credibility as the janitor at Old Trafford speaking of transfer news.

Released Deco reveals Premier ambition

Deco hopes to play in England or Italy next season after revealing he has been told by Barcelona he can leave the Nou Camp.

The Portugal international, who joined Barca from Porto in 2004, has a contract until 2010 but said on Thursday that the Catalan giants had told his agent he was free to find himself a new club.

'The club spoke with my representative and I know that there are offers, I am going to negotiate. I don't want to leave Barca with problems,' Deco said at a promotional event on Thursday.

'Barca people come and go, but the club continues, and me going is not the end of the world.

'I want to be where I am wanted and when things end up this way, it is best that you go. I thank the club for being honest with me.'

Deco insists his next step will either be the Premier League or Serie A, adding: 'I will go to England or Italy, I am sure. I won't stay in Spain because the only club that is of Barca's level is Madrid and I would never go to Madrid.'

The 30-year-old playmaker has suffered from injuries this season which have limited him to just 14 starts in Barca's 37 league games.

Barca, who complete their Primera Liga campaign this weekend, have now gone two seasons without winning any silverware and it was announced last week that reserve team manager Josep Guardiola would be replacing coach Frank Rijkaard in the Nou Camp hotseat this summer.

Wigan

Latics release midfield duo
Skoko and Olembe must find new clubs

Josip Skoko

Salomon Olembe

Josip Skoko and Salomen Olembe have been told that they will not be offered new deals at Wigan.

Australian international Skoko joined the Latics from Turkish side Genclerbirligi in the summer of 2005, and made 53 appearances during his time at the JJB.

Wigan boss Steve Bruce admits that it was a difficult decision to let the midfielder go, and has offered him the opportunity to train with the club over the summer should he fail to find a new side in the immediate future.

"It's always sad saying goodbye to good pros," he told the club's official website.

"Josip is a quality player who has never given me one bit of trouble, he has always given me everything when selected and we wish him all the best."

No complaints

Skoko's fellow midfielder, Cameroonian Olembe has struggled to make an impact in the Latics' first-team fold after signing last year and was restricted to just nine appearances during the 2007/08 campaign.

"Again I have no complaints about Salomon, who has trained professionally and given me everything when called upon," Bruce added.

The exodus at the JJB Stadium has also seen young professionals Peter Moore and Russell Sanders shown the door after the expiry of their short-term contracts. Neither player made a senior appearance for the club.

Bent nears permanent switch
Developments over Pollitt, Nash and Cotterill futures

Marcus Bent

Marcus Bent hopes to tie up a permanent move to Wigan Athletic after The Latics agreed with Charlton a fee for the striker.

Bent netted seven goals during his season-long loan from Championship side Charlton.

A fee in the region of £1million has reportedly been struck between the two clubs, and Bent is hopeful personal terms will soon be agreed.

"We just need to sort the personal terms. The contract is there and I am very happy to come to Wigan," said Bent.

"This is the club I want to stay at and hopefully the manager will soon be talking to my agent and we can sort things out."

Pollitt, Nash and Cotterill

David Cotterill

Carlo Nash

Meanwhile, Wigan boss Steve Bruce has confirmed that goalkeeper Carlo Nash and winger David Cotterill are likely to leave the JJB Stadium if Stoke and Sheffield United can agree deals.

Bruce said: "I've indicated if they (Stoke and Sheffield United) want to make it permanent then I will listen and see what develops.

"But we need three goalkeepers, so if something happens with Nash, I'll need to bring another in."

In other news, second-choice keeper Mike Pollitt is on the brink of signing a one-year extension.

Pollitt told the Wigan Evening Post: "The club want to speak to my agent, so hopefully things should get sorted out soon.

"I want to stay, I like it here, so I'll see what the offer is like and make up my mind.

"As long as I'm involved in the first-team squad and have a chance of playing at some stage, I'll be okay."

Bolton

Megson fires Diouf warning

Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson has warned any potential suitors that El Hadji Diouf will not be allowed to leave the Reebok Stadium for a cut-price fee.

The 27-year-old Senegal striker announced his intention to end his four-year association with the Trotters before they secured their Premier League survival earlier in the month.

But, despite claiming he hopes to persuade the former Liverpool striker to remain at the club, Megson has warned any interested parties that Diouf will not be allowed to leave cheaply.

The former Lens forward still has a year remaining on his existing contract with Bolton.

"He has made this statement about this being his last season," admitted Megson.

"But he's a great character and I know him well enough to know he will say one thing one minute and another thing the next.

"He's a temperamental person and I don't want him to go anywhere.

"Having said that, if somebody does come in for him they are going to have to pay a lot of money to get him.

"Then they're going to have pay Dioufy what we pay him in wages - which is a lot of money as well.

"I don't want him to go but if he does then it will be the best for Bolton and nothing else - and we'll make sure we get a good fee for him."

Trotters to release trio
Campo, Giannakopoulos and Teymourian free to leave

Ivan Campo

Stelios Giannakopoulos

Andranik Teymourian

Bolton have not offered new deals to Ivan Campo, Stelios Giannakopoulos and Andranik Teymourian, but Gary Megson is keen for Jussi Jaaskelainen and Ricardo Gardner to stay at the club.

Jaaskelainen and Gardner are both out of contract in the summer and have been linked with moves away from the Reebok Stadium.

However, Megson is hoping to persuade the long-serving duo to sign new agreements after Bolton clinched their Premier League survival.

"Jussi and Ricardo have both been excellent servants and are still very much part of my future plans for this football club," Megson told the club's official website.

"Hopefully we can get them secured on new deals as soon as possible."

Giannakopoulos and Campo have been with Bolton since 2003 but they are now free to move elsewhere after falling down the pecking order in recent months.

Megson has also decided there is no future for Iranian midfielder Teymourian at Bolton.

"Ivan, Stelios and Andranik have all done well for Bolton Wanderers and I'd like to express my gratitude to them," said the Trotters boss.

"It's time for them to move on and I wish them all the best."
